Rowing craft of Båten Lången. About Båten Lången.

In English, 'Å' (A Ring) is pronounced as an 'aw' sound.

Above: Pictured (difficult to see details) is the Rowing Craft of Båten Lången. Lången was a Swedish World Champion Rower during the late 60's and 1970. It was cool to see his craft here (at the Norra Vättern Hotel, Askersund, Sweden).

Above: We get to ride the lake side on the way out of town. We will get lost at some point, but all we do is find an east bound big road, no big deal.

someone has marked a rock with a Happy Face. Entering Ingelsby.

Above Left: This is subtle, but someone has marked a rock with a Happy Face and the rock is really a marker for a dirt road on the opposite side.

Above Right: Entering Ingelsby. By-the-way, there are a lot of 'by' word towns in Sweden.

We're looking at the interior decorating. We're heading toward Mariedamm.

Above Left: We're looking at the interior decorating. We waved at one another.

Above Right: We're heading toward Mariedamm. This is a busy highway; we don't not want to be on it very long. We turn right at the next sign ahead.

We're heading toward Örebro. That's an ASP.

Above Left: We're heading toward Örebro, but Regna is in between with a population of about 20 people, so we won't see signs to Regna until we get much close closer.

Above Right: That's an ASP (Deadly Poison).

- It was the 100th stick that I rode by in Sweden, only it turned out to not be a stick.

- Most Asps are gray in this area, but some are black. It rides on its ribs like an 'A', not an 'O' like most other snakes.

- I saw a common grass snake a little earlier (gray with yellow dots behind the head or almost a yellow ring,
the one I saw was closer to a ring and about .3 meter/yard long), but no picture.

- Sweden only has two kinds of snakes, when a person has seen both; it's not hard to figure the difference.

Boo Kyrka Sign. Boo Kyrka.

Above Left: We're in 'Boo' (sometimes 'Bo') and this is the Boo Kyrka Sign and the church goes back to 1733. Some historically famous Swedes come from this little area. The Town is important to us because we will divert off of the Sverigeleden and head for lodging at Regna. It's the only lodging for 50k in any direction (we are really remote).

Above Right: Boo Kyrka - It has a grave yard with Titan Tall Head Stones. We will visit.

Another Logging Camp. Clear sailing until we reach Regna.

Above Left: Another Logging Camp - By the way, the loggers and drivers were always careful and considerate while operating around us, and we to pulled over and waited a couple of times for trucks going by or for loader operations..

Above Right: Clear sailing; from here there are no loggers, farmers, or cars until we reach Regna.

We broke out of the forest into pasture land.

Baren/Bar. Dinner.
States of a Restored Packard. Swedish Window Cam Lock Latch system.

Above Left - The STORY: The Regna Area had a Fire Department composed of local people and funding. They bought a Packard (30s/40s Model?) and converted it to a Fire Truck (see the left most picture on the wall). Later in time, the Packard was retired and it ended up in a local field to its slow demise (see the middle picture on the wall). Our Hostel owner, a local born and bred resident and part time Fire Volunteer decided to obtain the vehicle and restore it to its original condition, even before it was converted to a Fire Truck (See the right most picture on the wall).

When we arrived today, the owner was putting oil into the Packard's engine. It has been restored to it original running condition!

Above Right: We're looking at a Swedish Window Cam Lock Latch system, one window is open, the other closed/latched.

Walk to Hembygdsgågard (Literally: Periphery Farm): A Village of Restored Dwellings

Above: I believe that Hembygdsgågard is a Swedish (perhaps near German too) word/expression/name for Village of Restored Dwellings.

The musical group ABBA played here. Livestock Branding and Treatment Station.

Above Left: When the musical group ABBA first started, before their fame, they played here, on this open air stage, for a summerfest event - They were a smash hit.
